The Foundation of Arts produces a widely varying community theatre season throughout the year. Each season features a summer musical, children’s plays, adult comedies and dramas, and our yearly holiday tradition; the Nutcracker Ballet, all hosted at the Forum Theatre. We also have our Stage, Too Season, where we host 2-3 productions each year in a much smaller, more intimate venue.
Artistic Integrity Policy
The Foundation of Arts for Northeast Arkansas seeks to enhance the quality of life for the community through the arts. Within the realm of community theatre, the artistic integrity of each production should be maintained with the highest of standards. With the assumption that the Director is the only artist, working with a crew and cast who are his/her craftsmen, he/she grants the opportunities for artistry to the craftsmen with whom he works – arbitrarily or with whatever logic he sees fit.
The Production Director and his staff should work to meet the needs of each member of the cast and crew, ensuring an enjoyable, fulfilling, and safe experience for every participant. However, regarding the vision and details of the production, the purest form of the director’s vision should be the primary goal of every member of the project.
Directors, choreographers, costumers, and all other artistic staff who work on a production are expected to maintain the highest level of artistic integrity at all times. Anyone who approaches a member of the artistic staff with a goal to change or influence the art on behalf of any individual should be given a copy of this policy or their attention be directed thereunto. All artistic staff will be held accountable to this policy by the Artistic Director and Executive Director of The Foundation of Arts, who is held subject to The FOA Board of Trustees.
